I won’t change a thing

The cool, breezy mornings take me back to my childhood where, incongruously, Nat King Cole makes his way and coos “Darling, je vous aime beaucoup.

It wafts softly as I watch another world unfold on Cable TV, bragging of time travel. What if I could go back and tamper with one incident that could change the whole course of my family’s history?

My cherished parents would still be around in their old age, humming with Nat King Cole, dancing cheek to cheek. My eldest brother would be alive and outrunning me. My other siblings would be swimming contentedly in our little pond.
The big BUT is I wouldn’t have my kids, just as they are today, if I were to change one tiny bit of the past. And for that alone, I dare not touch it.
So keep it cool and don’t burst my bubble, Nat. Darling, je vous aime beaucoup.
That’s all there is to it.
